There is only one healer of your body, and that is you, because all healing is self healing.
Reiki is a Japanese stress reduction technique that uses touch and energy to promote self healing. It was founded by Mikao Usui in 1922 and Reiki has been passed down (with the help of Dr. Hayashi’s and Madame Takata’s contributions) through attunements with sacred ceremonies and three levels of training- Shoden, Okuden, and Shinpiden. There are different methods of how sessions are particularly conducted but Reiki healing energy and it’s principals at the core remain the same through all.
The word “Reiki” can be broken down into two parts, “Ki” and “Rei”. Ki is life force energy that permeates around everything (food, water, plants, drinks, auras, air we breath, etc.) Ki is also known in other cultures as Prana, Chi, Qi, life force energy, vitality, Holy Spirit, and so on. The concept of Ki and an energy throughout everything has been around since the beginning of time. It is around and within us, we all have our own personal Ki. Then there is the “Rei” which is a specific and higher frequency of Ki. Rei-Ki works synergistically with Ki but on a higher frequency. This frequency is associated with love, compassion, and elevated emotions that bring upon deep healing and brings balance physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Reiki is intuitively guided and only works for the highest and greatest good, it can do no harm nor be told where to go. Reiki is pulled by the recipient and not pushed by the practitioner and goes to where it is most needed. Practitioners are solely a channel of delivering Reiki to a client so that their Ki and whole being can align and harmonize with it. Reiki works with your higher consciousness as well to elevate it to a harmonious and balanced state so the body knows how to heal itself.
Reiki and healing feels different for everyone. Most clients claim feeling warmth, deep relaxation, comfort, and body tingles. It is also important to remember that Reiki can only work for the highest and greatest good and can do no harm. It helps the body that is recieving to listen to itself and cultivate inner resources for healing. It also helps with adjustments(mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually) in ones life that are necessary to change in order to heal and grow. Because of its benefits on the mind, body and spirit Reiki is considered a holistic method to wellbeing. Here are a few examples of what reiki can help with physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually:
Physically- eradicates illnesses, alleviates symptoms, cleanses the body of poisons and toxins, promotes feelings of wellbeing, and helps gain an understanding of the body's real needs.
Mentally- brings attention to lessons, grows perspectives, helps break old habits and build new ones, changes attitudes, perspectives, and outlooks to more serene and positive ones, encourages pursuing personal potential, intuitive abilities, self awareness, and an overall clarity and peace of mind.
Emotionally- calms fears and anxieties to reach acceptance, channels emotional energy into creativity, transforms anger and jealousy into loving, caring, sharing and higher vibration emotions.
Spiritually- helps the energy body/soul/spirit accept and love the whole self and others with no judgment, more loving acceptance, forgiveness, helps the body align from within the chakras to its outermost aura, a complete change in consciousness, encourages a personal path of spiritual development and connectedness with the divine.
Truly, the only person who has the power to change your life is YOU. Reiki only acts as a supplement to any existing practices or conventional methods. It is a kickstart of a balance and harmonious journey through reiki’s divine wisdom and unconditional love and healing. Reiki is also now becoming more widely accepted in hospitals and professional settings.
